Our team has developed an innovative way to brew herbs that helps create more delicate tastes and complex flavor profiles.

So each sip is complex, uplifting, and memorable.

What Are the Honeybrew Ingredients?

Honeybrew has been through intensive metabolomic testing by New Mexico State University and Los Alamos National Labs to learn more about the microbiological DNA, phytonutrient content, enzymes, coenzymes, fatty acids, and dipeptides in the formula. Every ingredient was hand-picked by the Leaf & Hive team to provide a new type of drinking experience - unlike anything you've ever tasted.

The Honeybrew Probiotics

Probiotics are essential to our everyday bodily function. Honeybrew has two main probiotics that make up over 80% of our Honeybrew probiotic content.

Here's a breakdown of both:

Lactobacillus Plantarum

65% of the probiotic content is Lactobacillus plantarum. This is the most universal probiotic for the human body. This probiotic strain can help support digestion, immunity, mood, and overall health. It thrives in the gut and can help repair and fortify the intestinal lining. Studies suggest this one probiotic strain can help improve the gut barrier and enhance your natural immune response.

Lactobacillus Paracasei

Another 15% of the probiotic content is lactobacillus paracasei. This probiotic strain helps your body naturally break down foods and absorb nutrients more efficiently. Some studies suggest lactobacillus paracasei can help treat inflammation and ease the symptoms of common inflammatory conditions, like irritated bowel syndrome.

What’s the Difference Between Honeybrew and Other Brews?

Honeybrew is tea-based, inoculated with an authentic jun culture packed with antioxidants, enzymes, phytonutrients, and probiotics. Our Honeybrew contains a beautiful blend of honey, herbs & botanicals, and an authentic Jun Culture. Our Honeybrew has an alcohol content of around 6-15%.

Here's how it compares to other popular beverages on the market:

  • Mead is made by pulling yeast from the air or using wine yeast. Mead typically has a higher alcohol content of around ~20%.
  • Cider is a fruit-based wine made with apples and brewers yeast. While Honeybrew has a blend of different yeast specific to the jun culture.
  • Wine is made with grapes and is typically barrel-aged much longer than Honeybrew. The alcohol content is much higher than Honeybrew and comparable to mead.
  • Beer is made with wheat, hops & brewers yeast, or malt. Beer contains gluten and is much heavier on the stomach. Many individuals feel bloated or uncomfortable after drinking too much beer.
  • Hard Kombucha is made with sugar and has a much more acidic taste than Honeybrew. Unlike the Honeybrew ingredients, many of the health benefits of kombucha cultures aren't always researched or confirmed. Honeybrew contains the most extensively researched probiotics for health benefits. There are years of research and studies behind lactobacillus plantarum, the strain makes up ~50-60% of Honeybrew culture.
  • Wine: Wine is made with fermented grapes and is known for its relatively high alcohol content. Once the grapes have been fermented, wine is barrel aged to help it gain a mature, distinct taste.
  • Champagne: Champagne is also made with fermented grapes but unlike wine, champagne undergoes a two-step fermentation. After the fermentation process, sugar and yeast is added in.  After the second round of fermentation, the champagne is added to barrels to mature.
